SVIM 2026 is jointly organized for the seventh consecutive year by the Swedish Association of Infectious Diseases, the Swedish Association of Infectious Nurses, and three microbiology associations: the Association for Clinical Microbiology, the Swedish Society for Microbiology, and the Swedish Association for Microbiology. The 2026 host and local organizer is the Department of Infectious Diseases and the Department of Clinical Microbiology at Västerås County Hospital.
This year’s meeting will take place at the Västerås Congress Center, located approximately 100 kilometers west of Stockholm, from 19–22 May 2026.
The conference, designed for healthcare professionals, provides a valuable forum for exchange across disciplines, bringing together physicians, nurses, biomedical scientists, microbiologists, molecular biologists, researchers, and representatives from the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industries. The scientific program will offer sessions relevant to all professional groups, scheduled throughout the meeting from Tuesday to Friday.
The poster session will be held on Thursday evening, and the conference dinner on Wednesday evening. Throughout the week, attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in organized study visits.
